We make a valliant effort to discuss Philip Seymour Hoffman.

The acting world recently lost one of its greats. Philip Seymour Hoffman was an immense talent. There is no other way to put it. He had a range, a depth, and an understanding of what acting means that most actors could never dream of achieving.
He could be funny, heartbreaking, and terrifying all in equal understated measure. His acting was about quality, not quantity. He wasn't flashy, because that wasn't the point. He was more than that. He was real, and he will be missed.
That being said, this is also the first time we've recorded in two weeks and there have been some big doings in that time. Clarkson moved into his house, Jim has an offer pending and is not 90% finished with a masters degree. Let's be honest, we are overstimulated children who get even more overstimulated when the mics are in front of us, so we kind of wander a bit. but you have come to expect that.
Also, you can be a part of the show any time you would like. How's that? All you have to do is call or e-mail us. Film Drunks
Sunday Feb 23, 2014
Sunday Feb 23, 2014
Little known fact. Four years ago, during the planning phases of the show, one of the names we considered was Film Drunks podcast, or Drunks on Film. And those who have listened from the beginning know that this would have been a more fitting title.
So, we figured after four years we should probably address this potential title in the form of a show.
Here it is, from the good to the bad, from the funny to the tragic, our look at the best movie drunks.
Also, you can be a part of the show any time you would like. How's that? All you have to do is call or e-mail us. Episode 200: The Film Thugs on Film Thugs
Sunday Feb 16, 2014
Sunday Feb 16, 2014
This is our 200th episode.
That's right. One episode a week for four years. We missed a few here and there, but somehow we made it to 200.
I honestly cannot wrap my head around that number, even as I'm typing it, for some reason it feels made up. It sounds cliché, but it really does feel like yesterday that we sat down at a Craigslist table in New Braunfels, Texas with a fair quantity of beer, a few cigars, and a cheap USB microphone.
But here we are. And what better way for The Film Thugs to celebrate 200 than to finally, at long last take a look at the best Film Thugs.
So, join us again for our double century mark as we ramble on about thugs, henchmen, and whatever the hell else we feel like.
Also, you can be a part of the show any time you would like. How's that? All you have to do is call or e-mail us. Bad Cop, Bad Cop: A look at some of film's worst police officers.
Sunday Feb 02, 2014
Sunday Feb 02, 2014
Law enforcement is not an easy job. Not only is it low paying, dangerous work, you also have a bunch of people who don't know anything about it CONSTANTLY trying to act as if they are experts. Add to that the general disregard Hollywood pays the details of jobs outside of the movie industry, and it's a surprise that there are ever any good cops on film.
This week we take a look at some of the worst. From incompetent, to corrupt, to borderline developmentally disabled we take a look at the worst cops that movies and TV have to offer.
As usual the Thug hotlines are both still open and awaiting your phone
calls, if you live in the US call 512-666-RANT and leave a message about your
most memorably awful movie theater experience. If you don't live in the US and want to
avoid costly international charges, just Skype us at The_Film_Thugs. You can

Then there's this guy: The most annoying characters in film and television
Sunday Jan 19, 2014
Sunday Jan 19, 2014
There are some characters you just want to punch in the face. Sometimes it's on purpose, the character is meant to be annoying or off putting. But there are times when a character you are supposed to like, love, or just connect with fails, and fails miserably.

This week we take some time to spit a little vitriol in the direction of some of the characters that have annoyed us to no end.
