Peter Jackson: An Unexpected Career
Sunday Oct 20, 2013
Sunday Oct 20, 2013
Some careers really surprise you.
20 years ago, when I first saw "Bad Taste," I never in a million years would have guessed that the guy behind that would go on to become one of the most powerful, big budget directors of all time. Just goes to show what I know much I know.
This week we take a look at a career that went from low budget and indie to high budget cutting edge in an almost ridiculous span of time.

The Vanity Project

Sunday Oct 13, 2013
Every once and a while a celebrity reaches a level of both status and hubris to allow for some truly amazing things to happen.
The vanity project. That weird little idea that an actor or director or musician has that should never see the light of day, but due to their level of celebrity, the lack of people who are willing to say no to them, and the blind ego that comes with sudden fame, the world gets to see how insane and childish they truly are.
So, hang out and see what Jim and Clarkson think about this whole thing.

Is there a more bad ass actor working today than Samuel L. Jackson? Honestly, is there?
From character actor to highest grossing box office star of all time, Samuel L. Jackson has run the gamut of Hollywood. So, this week we decided to have a discussion about this very subject.

Stand up comedians turned actor

Stand up comedy is a brutal, competitive, grinding profession that is difficult to achieve any level of success in. You have to play any room you can find, be it a bar, restaurant, coffee house, or the occasional open mic night at a comedy club. You work for free in front of hostile, apathetic audiences until you are able to work your way up to making $20 a night... if you're lucky.
But there are a few, a very few, who are able to break through that grind and make a name for themselves... only to go back and work those shitty clubs to keep that career going.
Even fewer are the ones who can make a living doing comedy and nothing but.
This week we take a look at some of the select few who have been able to make the transition from successful stand up comedian to successful actor.
