This Brad Pitt Fellow..., Alternate title: Brad-a-palooza
Sunday Apr 20, 2014
Sunday Apr 20, 2014
Some people are just born lucky. They get the looks, the talent, and the personality that most of us would do anything for. You want to hate them, but you just can't.
Brad Pitt is one of those people. He's handsome enough to not really qualify as a person, he's talented enough to land a few Oscar nominations (as an actor and a producer), and cool enough to hang out with. Granted, he has had a few... missteps (Chanel no. 5, we are looking at you), but by and large he seems like a cool cat.
This week we discuss all things Brad.
Also, you can be a part of the show any time you wild like. How's that? All you have to do is call or e-mail us. If you live in the US, or any place that makes calling the US easy, just dial 512-666-RANT and leave us a voicemail. We will read the Google Voice transcript and play your message. It's both funny AND informative.
If you live outside the US you can call us on Skype at The_Film_Thugs. You can leave a message, or someone might actually answer.
E-mail us at thefilmthugs@gmail.com and we will read/play whatever you send us, of you can e-mail thugquestions@gmail.com to be part of an upcoming "Ask the Film Thugs" show, where we answer questions on any subject without having heard them first.
Also, we are on twitter @thefilmthugs and on Facebook and Vine.
You can also click on one of our sponsor links below and THEY will pay us. That's right. You won't have to pay a PENNY extra, and Amazon/Onnit/Teefury will give us a little taste.
Thanks for listening, and until next week...

Distraction Therapy: Will Sasso's Man Rules
Sunday Apr 13, 2014
Sunday Apr 13, 2014
For a while we have been toying with the idea of doing a show that wasn't about movies. Not an episode, mind you, but a full on show where we just talk about whatever we feel like talking about.
This week, we decided to give it a try. Both of us are big fans of The Ten Minute Podcast. If you haven't listened to it, you really should. It's three buddies, Will "Gladiator Helmet Face" Sasso, Bryan "The Kid" Callen, and Chris "The Romantic Jaguar" D'Ela, making you laugh for 10 minutes.
Well, Mr. Sasso put out a list of some of his "Man Tips" from twitter on his Hamfatter website. This week we decided to read them and give our reactions.
Hopefully you like it.
Also, you can be a part of the show any time you wild like. How's that? All you have to do is call or e-mail us. Rock and or Roll... second attempt
Thursday Apr 03, 2014
Thursday Apr 03, 2014
This is the same episode that we launched Sunday, but there was a technical error that kept it from publishing to iTunes, so we are trying one more time.
Before we got to the show information we wanted to let you know about "Favor," a movie starring Blayne Weaver, onetime guest/co-host of the show, and written and directed by Paul Osborne, upcoming guest/co-host of the show. It is a very tight thriller based on the saying, "a friend helps you move, a best friend helps you move a body." I saw the premier this year at the Austin Film Festival and dug it quite a bit.
If you want to support good films made by good people check it out. It'll be available on video on demand April 22nd. You can see the trailer on Vimeo. If you're feeling adventurous, you can even pre-order it on iTunes right now.
While you're at it, Check out Blayne's "Six Month Rule," one of my top 10 films of 2011, and Paul's amazing documentary "Official Rejection," which pulls back the curtain on the film festival scene.
On this week's show...
We decided to throw a little variety your way and talk more about music than movies. Granted, we still talk about music movies, but we focus a little more on the music itself.
We discuss our love of everything from rock to hard rick to classic rock, and all genres in between.
Also, you can be a part of the show any time you wild like. How's that? All you have to do is call or e-mail us. The Year That Was 1999
Sunday Mar 23, 2014
Sunday Mar 23, 2014
1999 was a pretty interesting year to be alive, at least for us it was.
The whole millennium thing aside, this was a time of pretty significant transition. Instead of boring you with the details here, how about you just take a listen and see what the world was like for Jim and Clarkson 15 years ago.
We also discuss food, car accidents, and Jim utters the phrase, "The San Diego Chicken is an asshole."
Also, you can be a part of the show any time you would like. How's that? All you have to do is call or e-mail us. If you live in the US, or any place that makes calling the US easy, just dial 512-666-RANT and leave us a voicemail. We will read the Google Voice transcript and play your message. It's funny AND informative!
